ULTRA COMPETITION from SPONSER® is a complex hypotonic nutrient solution, especially developed for ultra and long distance physical performances. Waxy maize starch and the starch hydrolysates from waxy maize and rice ensure a long lasting energy availability with a characteristically low glycaemic index.

Acacia fibres consist of so-called arabinogalactan and support the absorption of these nutrients and a normal intestinal function through their water-, electrolyte- and glucose-binding properties. Waxy maize starch consists of branched-chain glucose molecules. In contrast to mono- or disaccharides, waxy maize starch has up to 1000 and more glucose molecules in a branched arrangement. The long-chained and complex structure of waxy maize starch is processed in the stomach very quickly, but on the other hand dismantled to glucose by digestion enzymes only slowly and gradually. The insulin response of a drink mainly containing waxy maize starch is considerably lower compared to commercial carbohydrate mixes.

The formulation is free from gluten, lactose and free fructose since during long endurance acitivities these nutrients may often be responsible for tolerance problems during ultra endurance activities.

This product is vegan.

APPLICATION

Ideal for ultra-endurance. May also be prepared as a concentrated solution, with up to 60 g per 300 ml, for intake in gulps every 10-15 minutes (approx. 300 ml per hour). Drink additional water according to thirst.

PREPARATION

750-1000 ml water + 4-6 spoon (60-90 g)
Due to high waxy maize starch conent, shaking vigorously and repeatedly is demanded for proper dispersion. Flavour according to taste with e.g. tea water, or a dash of syrup or fruit juice.
