Effect of creatine: Creatine increases physical performance during short-term, intensive physical exertion and therefore also supports the development and maintenance of muscle mass. Creatine also ensures increased energy reserves in the muscle cells.

Area of application: For effective storage and optimum effect, it is necessary to take creatine for several weeks. Creatine is typically supplemented according to the training and competition phases.

Strength and speed sports: Creatine improves performance during high-intensity, repetitive exercise, from which strength athletes, sprinters, throwers, etc. in particular benefit. In addition to the direct improvement in performance, creatine also enables more intensive training, which indirectly benefits strength and muscle building. After longer breaks in training (e.g. injuries), creatine can help muscles to recover more quickly.

Endurance sports: In smaller doses, creatine is used in phases to support recovery, for example in professional cycling, because it serves to replenish energy stores. However, any weight gain must be taken into account here, as the body cells also absorb and store fluid. During the build-up phase or after injuries, creatine supports muscle growth during strength training.

Recommended intake and background information: For effective storage and optimum effect, creatine must be taken for several weeks. We recommend supplementing creatine in certain phases, but also discontinuing it for several weeks at a time.

Creatine occurs naturally in the human body and is stored in the muscle fibers as creatine phosphate. The main food sources are meat and fish.

The effect of creatine varies from person to person. While some respond strongly to supplementation, around a third of all athletes show hardly any reaction to creatine (so-called "non-responders"). For these athletes, we recommend the use of CREATINE PYRUMAX, which is supplemented with creatine pyruvate, which is more soluble and therefore easier to absorb.
